Stanmore House
Located in the inner-west suburbs of Sydney, the design called to rectify a planning issue of convoluted and interlocking spaces by untangling the floorplan and exploring what spaces could be with openness to the outside environment and the blending of indoor and outdoor living. The front traditional period features are celebrated and retained where the rear is an explosion of simple, striking and beautifully detailed materials and construction. The pitched rear façade allows light and air to flow freely into this structure and provides seamless transitions throughout the build which otherwise, in its original form; was closed off to rear and to the site.
