Description: THE CLT house was designed around a 14.5m reclaimed hardwood bridge beam, removed from a 150 year-old North Coast Bridge and was the central element to begin designing with. The structure is predominately Reclaimed timber and Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT); a system that allows strength in longer spans and suitable for prefabrication. All recycled/reclaimed timbers were in conjunction with Ironwood Australia and showcase the beauty of reclaimed and recycled hardwood as a functionally and aesthetically beautiful material.
