Description: Chelsea Park House is an old workers cottage in Redfern re-imagined for a young and growing family. Heritage forms and materials are highlighted and celebrated; while timber cladding, glass walls and a new striking first floor form celebrate a connection with the old and new. Direct access to a leafy kid’s playpark and public garden for an inner-city home is a true bonus! This natural setting and direct access to public amenity does not interfere with the openness of the internal spaces; and special care was made to retain privacy in such an urban setting.

Specs: Re-use of original sandstock bricks (with “tagged” bricks), Queensland Spotted Gum shiplap Cladding with Cutek finish, Exposed Steel Structure.
